How long will a bathroom or kitchen renovation take?

Typically you can allow anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks of actual labour. Factors that can impact this timeframe include:

  • any structural works
  • moving plumbing/electrical elements
  • having large amounts of tiles to lay
  • any repairs that needed to walls/floors etc. once the old kitchen/bathroom has been removed
  • manufacture and installation of stone benches
  • manufacture and installation of glass splashbacks

In terms of the planning and design, with no major structural changes, allow around 6 to 8 weeks for this phase. This includes:

  • time to develop the design
  • select materials and fittings
  • lead times for the manufacture of custom cabinetry (3-4 weeks)

It’s important to keep in mind that no matter the size of your project, you need to factor in time for research, planning, quoting, hiring, red tape and acquiring materials.
